PODIATRISTS Gary Johnstone Obtained a Bachelor of Podiatry at La Trobe University, completing his degree in London, gaining a broader perspective of his craft and strengthening his treatment skills. Gary commenced working in Elsternwick in 2009 having worked in busy private clinics in Narre Warren and Hastings for several years. Gary has a particular interest in the area of sports podiatry, biomechanics and in-grown toenail surgery. Gary has played football for many years, currently playing with St Kilda City Football club. He has also enjoyed playing with Port Melbourne (VFL) , Mt Gravatt (QLD) and the Oakleigh Chargers (U/18). Having a combined passion for football and sports science, he unites invaluable experience in offering a holistic approach to his treatment protocol. Gary utilizes up to date techniques relating to muscle strengthening, stretching, strapping/padding and hot and cold therapies. Matthew Bull Obtained a Bachelor of Podiatry with honours at latrobe University. His thesis titled 'Effects of Foot Orthoses on Foot Plantar Pressures' enabled him to gain extensive knowledge on the mechanisms by which foot orthoses influence foot posture and weight distribution beneath our feet. Matt has a strong sporting background having captained cricket teams at representative level and continues to play as a member of the Strathmore senior X1. Matt has a passion for lower limb musculoskeletal injuries and biomechanics, incorporating his research and clinical skills into podiatry practice. He also holds a position at Active Feet, a technical shoe retailer, which has allowed him to further develop his skills in sports biomechanics and athletic footwear. Matt understands the importance of footwear in the treatment of lower liimb conditions and has the skills to assess your current footwear and guide you through the vast array of footwear options, based on different supportive features.
